The International Charity Fund of Alexander Petrovsky “Solidarity” accepts many congratulations on its 20th anniversary. Founded in October 2003, it chose the phrase – “The future depends on us and you!” as its slogan. The founder and president of the fund was the well-known philanthropist and businessman Alexander Vladimirovich Petrovsky. The focus of attention of “Solidarity” has always been caring for people. The main directions of the foundation’s work are volunteer, philanthropic and charitable activities.
It all started with orphanages. The fund takes care of orphans and children with special needs. This is systematic, regular, painstaking work over many years. This was followed by cooperation with the Red Cross, the Union of Theater Actors, assistance to liquidators of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
The fund was one of the first to help our defenders since 2014 – with the beginning of military operations in the Donbass and up to the present. The International Charity Fund of Alexander Petrovsky was the first to respond to help the families of fallen soldiers and took the initiative to perpetuate the names of our heroes. Necessary medical equipment for the military is delivered to the city’s hospitals. The fund’s assistance to Ukrainian defenders has become even more powerful since the beginning of the full-scale military invasion.
Among the Foundation’s projects is also sport. Thanks to IBF “Solidarity” freestyle wrestling and judo exist and are successfully developing. Many champions have been prepared, sports facilities and arenas have been renovated, and numerous tournaments are held.
Medicine is among the programs that have been systematically implemented by the foundation for 20 years. New departments in the regional children’s hospital, assistance to the city’s hospitals, and the list can be continued. The Fund’s focus is on social projects. This is a system of targeted assistance to people, as well as boarding schools for the elderly.
Oleksandr Vladimirovich Petrovsky also participated in the development of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. The construction and arrangement of churches and theological seminaries, the arrangement of the territories of temple complexes and the opening of Sunday schools. The Foundation pays special attention to education, because teaching the younger generation gives us the opportunity to educate the future of our state.
