In the Dnipro Diocese of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, athletes, coaches and physical culture and sports workers were awarded for their outstanding achievements. Dnipropetrovsk athletes received more than 340 awards at competitions of various levels during the year. In addition to victories at the sports Olympics, they, together with their mentors, bring our common victory to Ukraine closer: they volunteer and hold weapons in their hands. Clergy representatives decided to award coaches, athletes, physical culture and sports workers of our region with “Cross of Freedom” medals. The meeting was attended by athletes and coaches of various sports: boxing, freestyle wrestling, fencing, academic rowing, water skiing, shooting, basketball and football. Representatives of the Oleksandr Petrovsky International Charitable Foundation “Solidarity” also visited the meeting with the athletes, because the foundation always supports sports clubs of our region and takes into account the needs of athletes. Our victory is won by the joint work of athletes, clergy, volunteers and all caring Ukrainians. Victory is ours!
