His Holiness Patriarch Filaret consecrated the temple in Piryatin
On September 7, the High Priest of the Ukrainian Church visited the Diocese of Poltava. The Most Holy Patriarch of Kyiv and All Rus-Ukraine Filaret consecrated the temple in honor of Saint Nicholas the Archbishop of Mir the Lycian Wonderworker in the city of Piryatin.
His Holiness was assisted by: Patriarchal Provost, Metropolitan Pereyaslav-Khmelnytsky and Belotserkovsky Epiphany; Archbishop of Poltava and Kremenchug Fedor and clergyman of the Poltava Diocese who heads the Diocese of Poltava.
After the Divine Liturgy, the Holy Patriarch addressed the believers with a cautionary message. He congratulated the congregation on the holiday, and emphasized that the Orthodox Christian should place spiritual values above the earth. On the occasion of the holiday, he awarded the benefactors and the temple building with blessings and awards.
In particular, the Most Holy was awarded the Order of St. Volodymyr of the 3rd degree by the rector of the temple, Archpriest Ivan Mykytchuk.
Archbishop Fedir thanked the Patriarch for his visit to Poltava region and for his tireless work in the field of building the Local Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
