Dual success of Dneprovsky athletes of SC "Judo-80"
In November, the Dnepropetrovsk Judo National Team brought 5 gold medals from the Ukrainian Judo Championship and 2 gold medals from the Ukrainian Cup. This was stated at the press conference of IA "Most-Dnepr" by the coach of SC "Judo-80" Yuri Pirog.
“We have recently come from two very important starts. We first participated in the Ukrainian Cadet Championship for Judo under 17, which took place from 7 to 9 November in Zhytomyr. The team of Dnepropetrovsk region brought 5 gold medals and 5 bronze medals.
The champions of these competitions were Victoria Popovich, Oleg Verediba, Sofia Bordinsky, Ruslana Crossroads and Ruslana Bulavina. For the first time in a long time the team of Dnepropetrovsk region took the first command place. This championship was the first stage of selection for the Summer Youth Olympic Games, which will be held in Argentina.
After the Championship of Ukraine on November 14-15 in the city of Sumy was held the Ukrainian Cup. The team of Dnipropetrovsk region took the second overall command place. We won two gold medals at these competitions.
I think that we have performed quite successfully in both the first and second competitions, ”Yuri Pirog said.
Ukrainian Cup champion Nico Sajaja told about his impressions of the competition:
“The Ukrainian Cup recently ended, for me it was one of the main starts this year. I hope that next year will be very fruitful for me. In 2017, I was in the national team of Ukraine, and I am one of the contenders for participation in the Olympic Games. This is a very big chance and I will try to use it to the maximum, ”he said.
Victoria Popovich said that she had brought her the Ukrainian Championship:
“The Championship of Ukraine took place in November. It went very well for me: I became the first. I'm happy with my result. I was preparing for the competition, tuning in to them, and got what I wanted. Now I will prepare for the Championship of Ukraine next year and for the European Cup ", - Victoria Popovich.
Oleg Verediba told about his emotions regarding the competition:
“The Ukrainian Championship was successful, I am pleased with my performance. Next year, we want more wins. It was not very difficult for me at the competitions ”, - Oleg Verediba.
