President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko honors four mothers of Dnipropetrovsk with state awards
The Order of Princess Olga III degree was awarded with four daysspice. They are foster mothers, caregivers of orphanages of family type. This was reported in the Dnipro Children's Service.
Among the awarded are foster mothers Tamara Antonova and Tatiana Barinova, mother-educators of orphanages Galina Plekhanova and Elena Derevyanko.
"Six boys and four girls - so many children I have brought up. At least 5 years old, older - 16. I also have a native son, he is 26 years old, ” - said Elena Derevyanko.
The first foster child appeared in Helen's family 14 years ago.
"We dreamed of having a second baby, but it didn't work out. Then they decided to become adoptive parents. They wanted a girl, but when they saw Saint, they realized that he was ours, ”she said.
Helen does not regret the chosen path.
“Being a parent is not easy. Children who are entering a new family need special care. But we wanted it. They tried to help, to leave a trace behind. Today's Order is an honor for our work with our husband, ”the woman said.
About 8.6 thousand children of Dnipropetrovsk are under guardianship, foster care and family-type orphanages.
