Exports of Ukrainian sugar have increased eight-fold
During the first quarter of this year, Ukrainian exporters delivered to the recipients outside the country ready foods worth a total of $ 753 million. The largest contributors to the total amount of these exports are poppy seeds ($ 230 million) and sugar ($ 131.5 million).
The total volume of sugar exported to foreign markets in the first quarter of 2017 reached 267.4 thousand tons, which is 8.6 times more than in the same period last year, when 29.6 thousand tons were delivered to the total amount of 15.2 million dollars.
The largest quantities of sugar in the first quarter of 2016 were delivered to Romania (worth $ 10.3 million). In the corresponding period of the current year, the largest consumers of this product were the countries of Asia and Africa. These are countries such as Myanmar ($ 12 million), Ivory Coast ($ 16.2 million), Libya ($ 11.4 million). European consumers delivered $ 21.2 million worth of sweet product during this period.
