The president Petro Poroshenko in Nikolaev handed over warrants for apartments for families of 15 military personnel-participants of anti-terrorist operation who received disability because of wounds in hostilities.
During the meeting with the military, the Head of State said that the most difficult period is already behind and in 2017 the Ukrainian economy will show development. “Because we find opportunities to build factories, elevators, new complexes and port infrastructure, and create jobs. Not taking priority away from building new, patriotic, professional and the best Ukrainian Armed Forces, ”Petro Poroshenko said.
The head of state recalled that on December 31, together with a delegation of US senators, he visited the positions of the Ukrainian military near Shirokin, where the Nikolaev Marines are based and protect Ukraine from the enemy. “They love the Motherland so much, they are so proud of the rank of the Ukrainian Marines, the Ukrainian Armed Forces. I thank them very much, thank you very much to the veterans of the ATO who are here with us today, ”he said.
The president reminded that during the appointment of Alexei Savchenko to the post of the head of the Nikolaev regional state administration, he emphasized the priority of work with veterans of anti-terrorist operation, including in the matter of providing them with housing. “It is a great honor for me to express my sincere gratitude and commendation to the ATO veterans. It is the duty of the state and mine, as President and Commander-in-Chief, to take care of their soldiers, who at the risk of their lives have protected and continue to protect peace and tranquility, ”Petro Poroshenko said.
The President added: “There is no doubt that the Armed Forces will secure our victory. Because they know what they are fighting for, what Ukrainian land and people are. Unlike those who came to us with the sword and do not understand why they are here. "
The Head of State congratulated the families who received the apartment warrants today and wished them peace at home and in the state. He recalled that he also recently signed a law on the right of veterans of the ATO to receive early retirement. "I want to assure that, despite the limited budget resources, every effort will be made to ensure a decent life for the best citizens of Ukraine," Petro Poroshenko said.
