The second tranche of the European Union has been transferred to the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine
A financial contribution of EUR 55, 125 million was transferred to Ukraine under the 2014 Financing Agreement.
According to this international agreement between Ukraine and the EU, the second tranche of assistance is the final. In July 2016, Ukraine has already been transferred EUR 250 million in aid.
It is worth noting that before granting the second tranche of financial assistance, a special commission of the European Union tested the effectiveness of the fight against corruption in Ukraine, as well as the effectiveness of the state government.
In its turn, the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine has already reported that the funds received from the European Union will be sent to the state budget for the purpose of approved expenditures. In addition, the Finance Ministry is looking forward to considering the next tranche in January 2017. According to the Minister of Finance of Ukraine Oleksandr Danylyuk, with the receipt of the next tranche, Ukraine approached the adoption of the budget. The Treasury is actively preparing for the IMF meeting in January 2017.
