Saakashvili is confident in the success of his party
Former head of the Odessa Regional Administration Mikhail Saakashvili spoke about his new political program, which he intends to implement with the Movement of New Forces party, and stated that he is quite sure that his formation will be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
Saakashvili and his party are currently holding early parliamentary elections and changing the country's political system. During his first public appearance in Kyiv, the ex-chairman of the Odessa RDA demanded to completely ban election campaigning on television, to abolish the majority election system and to ban power from parliamentarians who had proven themselves negative during the first term.
In addition, Mikhail Saakashvili stressed that there is currently no fair political system in Ukraine, and it will not continue until the head of the Central Election Committee changes and the moratorium on registration of new political forces is lifted.
According to the politician, he is not interested in the post of prime minister or president, because he wants broader intentions, which are currently going to be realized precisely through the Movement of New Forces. The party will aim to get a majority in the Verkhovna Rada in order to pass laws that are currently being ignored, and to be able to override the presidential veto and impose impeachment. However, as Saakashvili said, the latter should not be seen as a threat to Petro Poroshenko, but should be regarded as a new policy system in Ukraine: if the president does not act in the interests of the state, he should remember that he may be removed from office.
