Law on employment of university graduates
President Petro Poroshenko has signed Law of Ukraine No. 1662-VIII "On Amendments to the Law of Ukraine" On Higher Education "on employment of graduates", adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on October 6, 2016.
The law promotes the bringing of legislative and other normative acts in conformity with the norms of the Constitution of Ukraine in terms of ensuring the constitutional rights of citizens to work, as well as the rules on the prohibition of forced labor, defined by the Conventions of the International Labor Organization No. 29 "On Forced or Compulsory Labor", "On abolition of forced labor »№105.
In particular, the Law grants the right of priority enrollment to higher medical and pedagogical educational establishments by public order to persons who have concluded an agreement on working out for at least three years in rural areas or urban settlements. The state provides free graduation with heating and lighting to the graduates, within the established norms. At the same time, it was found that university graduates are free to choose their place of employment, except in cases stipulated by this Law.
The law comes into force on January 1, 2017.
