The Netherlands will release an electric car that can charge itself
As part of the Lightyear project, alumni and students at Eindhoven University of the Netherlands have created an electric car capable of receiving energy from the sun.
The inventors have covered the car body with solar panels that can produce energy even more than the machine requires. The makers of the solar electric car promise that under favorable weather conditions the car will be able to do without additional recharging for several months.
It is assumed that this electric car will be completely non-volatile, the rest of the energy from the solar panels will go to charge the batteries.
The creators hope that this car will be able to produce enough energy to cover up to 10-20 thousand kilometers per year.
Such an energy-efficient car will cost quite a lot of money, about 120,000 euros. The first 10 electric cars are expected in 2019.
