Excavations at the hem are in jeopardy
Excavations of dwellings of the times of Kievan Rus, held in Podil, were threatened with destruction. The reason is the lack of funds to continue research. Experts address the city authorities, explaining the need for continued archaeological work.
Excavations conducted at Podil, opened at Post Square two years ago, are now under serious threat. The fact is that archaeologists who have found dwellings in the times of Kievan Rus do not have sufficient funds to continue their research. Specialists have already found the remains of an ancient street with a variety of furniture, appliances, decorations and other attributes of life of ancient Kiev. The work stopped two weeks ago because of lack of funding from the state, as archaeologists do not even have the quality coverage to excavate.
Specialists appeal to the city authorities, explaining that without the urgent funds for the continuation of work valuable ancient objects will simply be spoiled, as the found objects require immediate mummification, for which the authorities do not allocate funds.
