Since the beginning of the year over 40 thousand hectares of forest have been restored
Over the past six months, 44.5 thousand hectares of forest have been restored throughout Ukraine. Of these, 13 thousand hectares of the area belongs to the natural renewal. The State Forestry Agency launched this campaign in the spring. The information was published on the website of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
The largest area of renovation is Polesie - forestry enterprises have planted trees on an area of more than 14 thousand hectares. Forests in the steppe, forest-steppe and Carpathian regions have also been restored. The Ministry of Agrarian Policy also stated that the plans for the restoration of Ukrainian forests have been exceeded.
Within the framework of the afforestation campaign, enterprises managed by the State Forest Agency sowed and planted areas with oak, pine, spruce, beech, birch, ash, hornbeam, alder and other trees.
The ministry's website reports that the campaign to restore and conserve forests will continue in the fall.
